The fantasy baseball season is as long as it is exciting. This makes the playing fantasy baseball both fun and difficult. Players fall into ruts, get injured, or even get traded out of good situation. No matter how well you draft your team, you will always need to fix your MLB lineup by heading to the waiver wire. Today we are going to use some traditional Fantasy Alarm advice in order to make your team as good as possible with a pair of waiver wire gems.
Jed Lowrie, 2B – Oakland A’s.
The Oakland Athletics aren’t exactly a powerhouse at the plate but 33 year old 2B Jed Lowrie has certainly found his stroke. Lowrie is hitting .300 on the season while actually slugging better than he has in his entire career. In May alone Lowrie has a .309 BA with 4 homers and 7 doubles. Still, Lowrie is only 24% owned. Add him and ride the hot wave.
Kennys Vargas, DH – Minnesota Twins.
You can’t do better than adding a huge power threat to the heart of your MLB lineup right off of the waiver wire. Kennys Vargas isn’t a household name, but he’s depositing balls into the bleachers at an impressive rate. Vargas hits clean up for Minnesota and has 20+ home run potential.
Luis Perdomo, SP – San Diego Padres
If you need some quality starting pitcher help then look to Luis Perdomo. Perdomo is 23 years old and looks to already be comfortable from the mound. Owned at sub-25%, Perdomo should be available and ready to give you consistent quality starts with 5 to 7 Ks.
